A solid, reflective color can turn a trouble spot on the course to a sharper water element. Aquatic colorants build a consistent color with a reflective surface, and can also keep some aquatic weeds and algae from growing by blocking photosynthesis, especially with a program started early in the season and continued regularly. Colorants range in hue from blue to black, with the darker dyes giving the water a mirrored look that keeps players from seeing past the surface.
