Global Turf Equipment has promoted Walt McMahon to executive vice president.

After previously serving as GTE’s vice president of domestic sales for the past three years, McMahon will now be responsible for operations, sales and service. The 38-year golf-industry veteran has received numerous awards and accolades over the course of his career, including being named Jacobsen’s Dealer of Year (2010), Helena’s Company’s Commission Agent of the Year (1998-2013) and Grigg Brothers’ Top Sales Recipient for North America (2010-13). McMahon has also been a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America for more than 30 years and was president of the Palm Beach Golf Course Superintendents Association in 1992.

“We’re thrilled to announce Walt’s promotion to executive vice president of Global Turf and excited to see his leadership abilities flourish in this new role,” says Jim Sartain, Chief Executive Officer of GTE. “We are also expanding our operations and service departments to handle the growth opportunities we have had in the last few years and know Walt will excel is this position.”

In a move to bolster Global Turf’s growing and successful service team, Erin Hermann has been hired as director of service. Hermann joins GTE after working for Jacobsen as their technical service manager for the past eight years. Through insightful leadership and attention to detail, Hermann will be a valued member of the Global Turf team.

Additionally, Christian Batts was recently promoted to facilities manager at GTE. Batts will oversee Global Turf warehouse facilities, incoming equipment and outbound shipping. Throughout his eight-year tenure at GTE, Batts continues to exceed expectations in all areas.
