Pump Manager 2

Golf course superintendents and other pump station operators must strike a careful balance between irrigation system performance, watering windows, water use and energy consumption. Rain Bird’s new Pump Manager 2 software simplifies this complex task by allowing full pump station control from a remote or on-site computer and increased data and performance reporting.

“We understand the many pressures that golf course superintendents and grounds professionals are under each day,” says Rex Hansen, pump station sales and marketing manager for Rain Bird’s Golf Division. “That’s why we designed our new Pump Manager 2 software to combine advanced functionality with convenience.”

Compatible with Windows 7, Pump Manager 2 allows Rain Bird pump stations to communicate with virtually any on-site or remote computer. Available in English, French, German, Swedish, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean language versions, the software is also compatible with Rain Bird’s central control product line and Smart Pump™, a Rain Bird exclusive feature that provides real-time communication between pump stations and Rain Bird’s central control.

After installation, the Pump Manager 2 software provides users with two main screens on their computers—a remote touch screen and a monitoring dashboard. The touchscreen view provides full, remote operational control of the pump station’s touch screen, giving users the ability to stop or disable pumps, clear alarms and change pressure set points. All functionality that can be performed on the touch screen at the pump station can be performed remotely. The monitoring dashboard screen lets users check pump station flow, pressure and alarm status at a glance. From this screen, users can also create a wide range of reports thanks to Pump Manager 2’s data-storing function.

“Pump Manager 2 stores all of your pump’s operational data on your computer’s hard drive,” Hansen explains. “As a result, you can use the software’s built-in archiving and reporting capabilities to create reports based on operation, flow and water use, for example. When the situation calls for a customized report or additional analysis, Pump Manager 2 can also export pump station data to a common spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel.”

Pump Manager 2 is just one more example of how Rain Bird is helping golf course superintendents and grounds managers save time, water and money. For more information, visit www.rainbird.com/golf, call 1-800-RAINBIRD or contact your local Rain Bird Golf Distributor.
