Gravely offers the Back Lapper as a quick solution to maintain optimum cutting performance between major sharpening for reel mowers.
The Back Lapper is easily set-up and attaches to most reel mowers, including the Gravely CL Series, PM3084 and TRM Series mowers. The adjustable double-ended drive allows reels to backlap on either side. It is also equipped with a half-inch drive adaptor, an adjustable roller support stand for reels without the front roller option and rear roller support. The Gravely back lapping kit contains roller support, frame support assembly, square drive adaptor assembly, drive coupling and protective goggles.
Mower reels may be backlapped while attached or unattached from the mower. The Back Lapper may be mounted on a bench or on the floor, as well. Attachment options for the Back Lapper include one-half to three-eighths inch reducers, sockets and one-half inch drive extensions which allow the machine to work with various reels.
