The simple-to-use TechControl display serves as a platform to set, diagnose and maintain your John Deere equipment. Its password-protected display enables the superintendent to quickly set or change mowing, turning and transport speeds, to limit variations in performance by different operators. On-board visual diagnostics, and the ability to set regular service times, maximize up time.
The AutoPedal system provides advanced automotive-style control of engine RPM via use of ergonomic twin foot pedals. This eliminates the need for a separate throttle making operation and training easy. It also saves fuel and lowers sound levels on the course and around the shop. A popular feature, borrowed from the John Deere Compact Utility Tractor, is LoadMatch technology, which automatically adjusts the speed of the machine to keep consistent power to the cutting units during heavy load conditions, maximizing productivity and maintaining cut quality.
Each piece of equipment in the A Model line is assembled using an updated assembly process at John Deere’s Turf Care facility in Fuquay Varina, N.C. This new line incorporates advanced manufacturing technologies such as smart tools and visions systems to provide consistent quality during the build process of each A model.
“When it comes to making improvements to equipment, at John Deere Golf we leverage a number of assets and key resources to identify our direction,” explained Koppen. “We gather extensive feedback from superintendents, draw on the expertise and legacy of the larger John Deere brand, and consider where we can make improvements to our overall production process instead of only focusing on the end result. It’s this approach that inspired many of the improvements featured in the A Models.”
In addition to the key systems on every model, the 7500A, 7700A, 8700A PrecisionCut and 7500A E-Cut Hybrid mower offer an improved operator station, and tire geometry engineered for enhanced after-cut appearance. Multiple step locations make it easy to enter or exit the operator station from either the front or rear, which increases productivity on the course, and whether you back into storage or pull straight in, access the next day is easily available.
The rear tires on these models are shifted outward so tire alignment delivers an even appearance across the mowing pass. Now on the A models, the industry’s only E-Cut Hybrid fairway mowers can be set to automatically have reduced engine speed during mowing, saving up to 30 percent in fuel during operation.
The 8000A E-Cut Hybrid Fairway Mower features the 18-in. QA5 (Quick Adjust cutting unit), which narrows overall cut width to produce tighter striping and superior cut quality with fewer hydraulic leak points. Additionally, the 8000A E-Cut offers three-wheel stance maneuverability, allowing for quicker turning than traditional four-wheel stance machines to allow for maximum productivity.
