Turfco announced the launch of its new patent-pending CR-20 Fairway Topdresser and Material Handler. The company’s three-year project results in a new standard when it comes to productivity and precision for golf course and sports turf topdressing, material handling and construction projects.

"Our new CR-20 represents a leap forward in topdressing and material handling technology," Turfco executive vice president Scott Kinkead said. "We listened to superintendents to make the most productive and effective unit. They wanted more control over where to place material without having to move the machine and to better distribute it. On the topdressing side, they wanted to be more productive without wasting material. Ultimately everything we focused on was to make their staff more productive and to make sure they can get the job done right.”

CR-20’s key benefits include:

  • Large area topdressing: CR-20’s spinner design gives superintendents a uniform and precise topdressing application.
  • Patent-pending digital smart controller: Allows superintendents to calculate and save their topdressing applications — different widths at the same rate or increased rates for certain areas — with the touch of a button. Eight different rate and width settings can be stored and switched.
  • Material handling: The innovative side conveyor, which has a 40-degree operational range, pivots freely forward and back and up and down, ensuring materials are placed where needed without the need to frequently reposition the machine. With a new patent-pending joystick control, operators can easily place materials from the tractor seat.
  • Versatility: The CR-20 doubles as an all-purpose construction and renovation machine. The deflector flap design allows users to quickly "spray" sand to do a light coating to freshen up bunkers and place material where needed. The hopper is made of galvanized steel panels and has a capacity of five cubic yards.

“Designed to be the multi-purpose workhorse of the golf course maintenance industry, the C-20 revolutionizes the way superintendents can get multiple jobs done, achieve agronomic goals, eliminate material waste and improve labor productivity — all areas of high concern to golf superintendents today,” Kinkead said.

The CR-20 Fairway Topdresser and Material Handler can be ordered now through Turfco's authorized dealers.
