Troon has purchased The Club at Cordillera, a private club in Edwards, Colorado near Vail. Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, has managed the 54-hole mountain golf club since January 2013.

Troon purchased The Club at Cordillera from Wind Rose Holdings LLC. The sale closed on December 10 and includes the property’s three 18-hole golf courses (Valley, Mountain and Summit), three clubhouses and other club amenities. The purchase price will not be announced.

“The Club at Cordillera is an amazing property with a wonderful membership, many of whom we’ve had the pleasure of serving for a dozen years,” Troon president and CEO Tim Schantz said. “We’re excited about the future of The Club, its long-term sustainability and for the opportunity to continue to provide an outstanding membership experience. Thank you to Dr. Jeffrey L. Rush and the ownership group for allowing Troon to be stewards of this incredible community for many years to come.”

On the heels of a multi-million-dollar, two-year renovation of the Valley Club completed in 2023, Troon will invest in a bunker renovation in 2025 on the Tom Fazio-designed Valley Course. In addition, the entire management team and all employees will continue in their current roles, including director of agronomy David Soltvedt and GM Michael Henritze.

“This is an exciting announcement for everyone involved with The Club at Cordillera, including members, employees and community partners,” said Henritze, who has worked as The Club at Cordillera’s GM since the beginning and as a Troon associate for more than 20 years. “From the day Troon set foot on property, the company has brought stability and a pursuit of excellence to The Club. Now as sole owners, Troon’s unwavering commitment to quality and passion for service will seamlessly continue.”

The Club at Cordillera is one of the largest exclusive golf communities in North America, encompassing more than 7,000 acres in the heart of Colorado’s Vail Valley, 120 miles west of Denver. Fazio, Hale Irwin and Jack Nicklaus all designed courses the club.

With the acquisition of The Club at Cordillera, Troon now owns and operates six properties and provides management and hospitality services at more than 900 locations in 45 states and 35 countries.

Troon also owns Troon North Golf Club in Scottdale, Arizona; Eagle Mountain Golf Club in Fountain Hills, Arizona; NorthRiver Yacht Club in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; The Clubs at St. James in South Port, North Carolina; and St. Johns Golf and Country Club in St. Augustine, Florida.
