Troon has acquired Applied Golf Management, a New Jersey-based golf and hospitality management company.
As part of the acquisition, Troon assumes management of Applied Golf’s portfolio of 13 public and private golf facilities in New York, New Jersey, and Florida. Current plans call for Applied Golf to continue to maintain its Millstone Township, New Jersey, office and all Applied Golf associates will continue to support and manage facilities in the region.
“Dave Wasenda, for whom I have the utmost respect, and his team have cultivated a superb portfolio of clubs throughout New York, New Jersey, and Florida by working hard and developing customized solutions for clients — tenets both companies share,” Troon president and CEO Tim Schantz said. “With the addition of Applied Golf, we significantly expand our footprint and management capabilities across the Northeast.”
Troon’s acquisition of Applied Golf Management infuses additional support, expertise, and resources to benefit current and prospective clients, while growing the company’s portfolio of managed facilities in the Northeast.
“We could not have chosen a better organization than Troon to help carry on what we have built over the past 17 years,” said Wasenda, the founder and president of Applied Golf. “This acquisition closes a great chapter in our company’s history, while beginning an amazing new one for our clients and associates. It is an exciting time for all of us to become part of the Troon family. We look forward to continued success and contributing to the company’s strong growth.”
In a separate transaction, Troon acquired the management services division of Dallas-based Invited, adding 18 management and/or consulting-services clients. The Applied Golf and Invited transactions not only expand Troon’s footprint in key markets, but also bring the additional talent and resources of those companies within Troon. Troon has completed 13 management company acquisitions since 2014, with 11 of those in the last five years.
