Victor Garcia, president, United Turf Alliance announced that Tri-Turf of Traverse City, Mich., has joined UTA as a part-owner of the company and a distributor of the ArmorTech brand of products in the state of Michigan.
Incorporated in 2005, United Turf Alliance is a consortium of distributors dedicated to selling a wide range of post-patent and leading edge chemical technologies to the professional turf industry under the ArmorTech brand name. The group was formed in response to competitive pressures in the post-patent marketplace and seeks to offer unique, high quality products and service.
Current ArmorTech chemistries currently include fungicides, insecticides, plant growth regulators and fertilizers, with product line expansions anticipated this year.
“The ArmorTech brand name is synonomous with quality,” says Vic Garcia, UTA president. “My mission is to identify unique product opportunities and to negotiate the best formulations for the best value. ArmorTech products are distributed to the professional turf market exclusively through the member companies of UTA who have been specifically chosen for their commitment to customer service and their depth of industry knowledge.”
Other members of the Alliance include Advanced Turf Solutions (Fishers, Ind.), Nassua-Suffolk (N.Y.), Seeton Turf Warehouse (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) and TurfLinks (Hudson, Mass.).
