The Seagate Golf Club in Delray Beach, Florida, reopened its Joe Lee-designed course following a renovation guided by golf course architect Drew Rogers. The course closed in April 2023 and reopened the first week of December.
Seagate GC sits on a 300-acre site and winds through Bimini Bermudagrass and tree-lined fairways. The renovation served to enhance playing options on each hole and, in some instances, resulted in complete redesigns. Greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, irrigation, drainage, turfgrasses, landscaping and practice areas were improved as part of the renovation.
“Recognized as one of the best golf courses in the region, this full renovation serves to continue to provide our members with the world-class facilities they’ve come to expect,” Seagate managing director Alex Schnoeller said.
Added Seagate’s director of agronomy Alan Fike: “Our architect carefully analyzed our course and designed the plans for the full renovation of the entirety of our golf facilities. Throughout the renovation, I was on the course each day ensuring that the myriad of intricate design details was executed to plan. We know our members will be very pleased with the results.”
