The Seagate Golf Club
The Seagate Golf Club in Palm Beach County, Florida, has opened its front nine holes, meaning all 18 holes are available for play following a $14.5 million renovation. The back nine opened for play in December 2023.
Architect Drew Rogers oversaw the renovation of the Joe Lee-designed 18-hole championship golf course and practice facilities. The course, which winds through 120 acres of Bimini Bermudagrass and tree-lined fairways, closed in April 2023 for the project.
The transformation served to heighten the playability of each hole and, in some instances, resulted in complete redesigns. Greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, irrigation, drainage, turfgrasses, landscaping, and driving range and practice facilities were among the areas enhanced by the project.
“Our members are thrilled with the new course, finding it both challenging and user friendly,” The Seagate managing director Alex Schnoeller said. “We are now recognized as one of the best golf courses in the region and are thrilled to provide our members with this new, world-class experience.”
The Seagate director of agronomy Alan Fike added: “Our architect carefully analyzed the course and designed the plans for the full renovation of the entirety of our golf facilities. Throughout the renovation, I was on the course each day ensuring that the myriad of intricate design details were executed to plan. We know our members will be very pleased with the results.”
