Travels with Terry: A bonus idea

Terry Buchen is safely at home, but he’s still receiving great ideas from readers.

A piece of yellow foam is used to keep the golf ball from going into the cup, so a golfer does not touch the inside of the cup or flagstick when retrieving their golf ball, when the cup is placed in its normal position 1 inch below the turf surface. The yellow foam is from Foam Noodles. It cost about $1 per lineal foot and it was previously used on top of the walls on the club's ice hockey rink. An 8-foot long piece of a yellow foam noodle will do all 18 regulation cups and it comes in various colors. Rob Fisher, superintendent at the Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club in Powell, Ohio, sent this to me.
