Social media remains the most far-reaching form of connectivity among golf industry professionals. The posting, sharing, educating and inspiring must be celebrated — again.
Golf Course Industry and The Aquatrols Company are thrilled to extend their annual Super Social Media Awards to a 14th year. We’re also pumped to see who followers, readers and listeners want to see honored during the Social Media Celebration at the 2025 GCSAA Conference and Trade Show in San Diego.
The process of nominating a peer for one of the annual awards opens Tuesday, Dec. 3 and continues through Friday, Dec. 27. Submitting a nomination is even easier than posting an awesome course picture on social media: email the names of industry professionals whose social media efforts you admire to publisher + editor-in-chief Guy Cipriano (gcipriano@gie.net) or managing editor Matt LaWell (mlawell@gie.net). If email is too much of a throwback tactic for your communication tastes, send nominations via direct message on X to @GCIMagazineGuy or @MattLaWell. We promise you’ll get a friendly thank-you reply!
Winners will be honored as part of the 2025 Social Media Celebration beginning at 2:30 p.m. PT, Wednesday, Feb. 5, at The Aquatrols Company booth #4025 inside the San Diego Convention Center. Drinks will be served during the event, with a happy hour and live music immediately following the celebration. Hosted by LaWell, aveteran trivia game presenter in his spare time, the gathering provides a fabulous opportunity to reconnect with industry friends or meet peers you might recognize from your social media feeds.
In addition to the celebration, members of the Golf Course Industry team will be hanging around the booth to answer questions about effectively using social media for work purposes and representatives from The Aquatrols Company team will be available to discuss managing water on your course. Yes, you can learn and have fun simultaneously.
The Social Media Celebration is free to attend, requires no RSVP and produces terrific content for your social media feeds.
“Social media remains a fabulous way to connect and engage with the people who make golf the greatest of all games,” Cipriano says. “Whether you’re an active poster or simply an observer, having a thoughtful social media presence will help you stay current on this evolving industry. Details separate courses and careers in a competitive market, and social media is a place where inspiration for those details can originate. It’s always a joy for Golf Course Industry to partner with The Aquatrols Company to honor individuals who understand how this form of communication makes the industry better.”
