STIHL releases AR 2000 backpack battery

Users can work up to 11 hours on one charge.

STIHL has released its AR 2000 backpack battery, part of the STIHL Lightning Battery System products. The battery allows users to work up to 11 hours on one charge.

“The STIHL AR 2000 is an integral part of a complete pro package as it powers a full day’s work on the job,” said Brian Manke, product manager at STIHL. “Compatible with all battery products in the STIHL AP Series, users are buying into a family of products that offer quality performance comparable to gasoline-powered products.”

As the replacement to the STIHL AR 900 backpack battery, the AR 2000 offers premium comfort, including an ergonomic hip belt and chest strap that evenly distributes the weight of the battery, reducing operator fatigue. Using the backpack battery with its power cable connected directly to the equipment takes the weight of the battery off the unit. The removal of the onboard battery and addition of the high performance cable connecting system shifts handheld weight from the equipment to the back or hip.

The AR 2000 comes equipped with built-in sensors and microprocessors that monitor temperature and automatically shut down the battery if it overheats. Designed with professionals and those with large properties in mind, the backpack battery comes equipped with numerous features for the demanding professional like audible and visual recharge alerts, rain cover, sturdy housing and durable base plate.

Quiet and emission-free operation means greater flexibility on the job, allowing users to work at times and on job sites not accessible to traditional gas-powered equipment due to noise and exhaust regulations. Longer run times equate to less downtime on job sites, freeing up time to take on more work. Recharging the AR 2000 to 100 percent capacity takes only 130 minutes when used with the STIHL AL 500 high-speed charger.
