Steel Green Manufacturing
Steel Green Manufacturing announced the introduction of Opti-Rate, a pulse-width modulation rate-controlled spray system developed in conjunction with CapstanAG. Opti-Rate was designed to enhance the accuracy and consistency of spray applications.
Opti-Rate independently controls flow rate and pressure to maintain a consistent application across the entire boom. When a Steel Green machine turns, Opti-Rate ensures the spray rate remains consistent through turn compensation. Opti-Rate also increases output when the machine speeds up and decreases output when it slows down to maximize chemical savings. The system is available as an optional accessory and is compatible with all new Steel Green models.
“Opti-Rate gives operators even more control over their applications, without having to make extra adjustments out in the field,” vice president of sales Matt Smith said. “This system will help them reduce over- and under-application, improve coverage, and deliver more reliable results overall.”
Some key benefits include:
- Built-in rate control: Operators select the nozzle tip size, desired rate and pressure, and Opti-Rate automatically handles the adjustments.
- Chemical savings: The system increases output when the machine speeds up and decreases output when it slows down to maximize chemical savings and application consistency.
- Turn compensation: Opti-Rate adjusts flow to each nozzle during turns, minimizing over- and under-application across the boom.
- Ease of operation: The ISOBUS display lets operators easily monitor and adjust spray settings, while providing operator feedback.
