Spectrum Technologies recently introduced new measurement technology for direct soil measurement of pH & EC with a single probe.
Superintendents benefit by ensuring consistent turf quality. Spectrum’s new glass-free sensor design provides easy and lab-accurate soil measurement via Bluetooth connection to mobile devices.
How does it work? Start by making a pilot hole to the desired depth, then fill the hole with distilled water. Wait until the water is absorbed by the soil and then insert the probe to the desired measurement depth or depths. The soil pH & EC will be displayed in the FieldScout pH/EC app on your phone or tablet. Measure both pH and EC at once to achieve optimum turf quality.
Headquartered in Aurora, Illinois, Spectrum Technologies manufactures and distributes affordable, leading-edge, plant-measurement technology to agricultural, horticultural, environmental and turf markets throughout the world, serving more than 14,000 customers in over 80 countries. Their brands include WatchDog, FieldScout, WaterScout, DataScout, LightScout, TruFirm and SpecConnect.
