Shorecliffs Golf Club in San Clemente, California, recently unveiled its improved golf course, along with a renovated clubhouse and new restaurant and bar.

Shorecliffs has undergone major renovations and improvements over the last four years. On the golf course, renovations include improved tee boxes and fairways, added drainage, installed water features and new landscaping.

Director of operations Justin Lake described it as “an exciting time at Shorecliffs.”

The 18-hole public course challenges golfers of all skill levels with tree-lined fairways, canyon vistas and ocean views. The temperate climate and sunny skies of the historic beach city of San Clemente, make Shorecliffs a bit of a paradise. The Joe Williams-designed track, which is now managed by Troon, opened in 1964 and was once a favorite of Richard Nixon.

According to The San Clemente Times, tunnels that connected holes on either side of Avenida Vaquero have been cleaned up and drainage has been introduced. In addition to the aforementioned improvements, some areas that regularly become soggy were rehabbed and a few holes were redesigned to improve playability. Some renovation is ongoing.
