SePRO announced it will be conducting a live webinar “Pond Management Around the Golf Course” webinar for golf industry professionals.
The webinar begins at 12:30 p.m. EDT on Thursday, June 23.
Dr. West Bishop, algae scientist and water quality research manager with SePRO, will speak about challenges superintendents face keeping ponds clean. He will highlight common issues within irrigation ponds and the impact water quality has throughout the entire course, including the spread of disease within turfgrass, nutrient uptake challenges, and the impact of dirty water has on fertilizer, herbicide and fungicide programs. Dirty ponds can be unsightly, but the webinar will reveal simple proactive and reactive maintenance solutions to ensure ponds look their best.
Bishop is focused on advancing solutions for nuisance algal/cyanobacterial management, including proactive nutrient mitigation. He is a certified lake professional through North American Lake Management Society. Bishop has been with SePRO for more than 11 years as the algae scientist and water quality research manager. He is also the host of Algae Corner, an informational video series on all things algae.
