Eight months in to 2022, Bobby Jones Links has added a sixth new club to its management portfolio — and its first in Arkansas. The Atlanta-based club management and advisory services company has been selected to manage Searcy Country Club, a private country club in Searcy, about 50 miles northeast of Little Rock and about 110 miles west of Memphis.
“After a thorough analysis of the club’s financials, deep assessment of the market, competitive set review, and listening to the Board’s goals, we’re confident that we can make a difference at Searcy Country Club,” business development president Doug Hellman said. “We are contacted by many private club boards, golf course owners and investors, and focus on partnering with clubs where our expertise can bring significant value.”
Searcy Country Club has served generations of members. Bobby Jones Links will continue many of the club’s valued traditions while introducing new programming and enhanced food and beverage experiences geared toward younger members and families. In collaboration with 2021 Arkansas PGA Teacher of the Year Bruce Baxley, new player development initiatives will be explored, including youth camps, introduction to golf clinics, and family nights on the range with food and entertainment.
Bobby Jones Links’ team will also guide the board of directors on executing a multi-faceted long-range capital plan that includes upgrades to the 18-hole golf course and 15,000-square-foot clubhouse as part of the club’s strategic focus on continual improvement and enhancing the value proposition of being a member.
“The board did extensive due diligence when vetting Bobby Jones Links for this partnership,” club president Tim Blansett said. “In our discussions, it was apparent that they not only have the expertise to enhance our club’s financial performance and membership satisfaction, but they also spent considerable time really understanding our club and our goals. Ultimately, we believe we have a true partner in Bobby Jones Links.”
Founded in 1962, Searcy Country Club is a private club that offers an 18-hole, 6,488-yard, par-71 parkland style course characterized by treelined fairways and contoured putting greens, among other amenities.
Bobby Jones Links now manages 32 properties in 12 states, including Bobby Jones Golf Course (Atlanta), Hope Valley Country Club (Durham, North Carolina), Eastpointe Country Club (Palm Beach Gardens, Florida) and Mountain Lakes Club (Mountain Lakes, New Jersey).
