Troon has been selected to manage The Salt Pond Golf Club, a daily-fee course in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Indigo Sports, a Troon company, will oversee golf operations, agronomy, food and beverage, and sales and marketing.
“We are excited to be able to partner with the industry’s premier golf management company and look forward to working with Troon in making our member and guest experience the very best it can be,” The Salt Pond president Phil Hamilton said.
Featuring a mix of par 3s and 4s, The Salt Pond is a mid-length 18-hole course that can play from a 2,130-yard, par-54 layout to a 3,174-yard, par-61 course, depending on the set of tees selected. Designed by Rupert Smith, the course opened in 1992 and winds its way through a townhome community with ponds and natural woodlands surrounding the property. In addition to the fun and challenging golf course, The Salt Pond has a practice range and putting green, a golf shop and Birdies Snack Bar.
“The Salt Pond is a fun layout that can be enjoyed by golfers all abilities,” Troon operations VP Justin Smith said. “We are excited to partner with The Salt Pond and look forward to elevating the experience.”
Collectively Troon, and its operating brands Troon Golf, Troon Privé and Indigo Sports, now manage 11 facilities in Delaware.
