Osprey Meadows at Tamarack Resort – the Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed course - announced the initial holes-in-one were struck on the same day.
With five par-3 holes – one more than 18-hole championship layouts typically have – one might think aces at Osprey Meadows would be plentiful. This is proving far from reality however, and has many wondering if it’s a byproduct of the inspired, challenging design by the world-renowned golf course architect or the often ironic nature of the game.
Dick Bogle notched Osprey Meadows’ first hole-in-one on the 17th hole. Playing the blue square tee at 146 yards, Bogle used an 8 iron.
Matching Bogle’s feat, Kerry Baxter earned his ace on No. 13. Also playing the blue square tees at 103 yards, Baxter struck a pitching wedge for the hole-in-one. It was his first time playing Osprey Meadows.
Both golfers received commemorative plaques.
