Organics Management has announced that Life Soils, a soil health solutions company, has started production of COMAND in the state of Texas, as of July 2024. Created in Florida in 2017, COMAND production and application has since expanded throughout the Southeast US, and this latest facility will help increase the reach of COMAND.
“We are thrilled to expand our reach of COMAND by starting production in Texas,” manager Ryan McMeekin said. “Having a presence on the ground in this important market will allow us to ensure all customers that wish to include COMAND as part of their organic toolkit will have access to a reliable supply.”
COMAND is a proprietary soil amendment created by Life Soils, using technology developed by Harvest Quest, that delivers results through its unique microbial composting process. This bio-engineered, natural product enhances soil structure, boosts root development, improves nutrient uptake and improves drought resistance.
To support and build the Texas COMAND market, LifeSoils has hired two business development managers. Curtis Dishman oversees the Central and North Texas region, while Trevor Ogden is positioned in the South Texas region.
“Bringing Curtis and Trevor on our team is a real difference-maker for us,” McMeekin said. “Both are born and raised in Texas. With nearly 60 years of combined experience, Trevor is a turfgrass industry veteran with extensive experience in golf course management while Curtis brings more than two decades of managing professional baseball fields.”
For logistics and sales support, LifeSoils has partnered with Texas-based Turf Materials as the regional distributor for the golf industry.
