Troon has been selected to manage Ocean Shores Golf Course in Ocean Shores, Washington. Troon and dedicated Pacific Northwest resources will oversee golf operations, agronomy, and sales and marketing for the daily-fee golf facility.

Located two and a half hours west of Seattle, Ocean Shores Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course founded in 1961. The 6,252-yard course plays to a par of 71 as the front nine weaves among trees, while the back nine is an oceanside links layout. Heavy ocean air and moderate trade winds combine to provide golfers with a stiff challenge and make the course play much longer. Ocean Shores is recognized for its top greens.

The course opened as a 6-hole track before adding three more holes in 1963. What is today the front nine was added in 1966 during a development boom that involved with singers Pat Boone and Ginny Simms — the latter of whom worked frequently with longtime golf ambassador Dinah Shore. The course hosted Boone’s Celebrity Golf Classic starting in 1966 before becoming a regular LPGA stop in 1970.

“I am excited to have Ocean Shores join our family of courses,” Troon director of operations Mike Fosnick said. “I know the 60,000-plus Frequent Players Program members in the Puget Sound area will enjoy Ocean Shores’ unique one-of-a-kind layout.”

Troon now provides services at more than 770 locations, including more than 760 18-hole equivalent golf courses around the world.
