The Nufarm EXCEL Leadership Program and golf industry leaders and partners met with congressional leaders May 8-10 to discuss important topics impacting the golf industry in Washington, D.C.
On May 9, the program’s participants joined other volunteer groups for a beautification community service project. Project volunteers mulched cherry tree stands; seeded and mowed turf panels; performed landscape bed planting; and sodded, pruned and spruced the German American Friendship Garden and areas around the Sylvan Theater.
During the National Golf Day event, Nufarm heard speeches from its EXCEL Class of 2023 Graduates at the EXCEL graduation dinner reception:
- Nick Mortara, assistant superintendent, Fairview Country Club, Greenwich, Connecticut
- Kyle Gentry, director of agronomy, Finley Golf Club at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina
- Mark Lyon, superintendent, Teton Pines Resort and Country Club in Jackson, Wyoming
- Carey Hofner, superintendent, Happy Ranch
- Evan McFadden, assistant superintendent, Martis Camp Club, Truckee, California
National Golf Day is organized by the American Golf Industry Coalition, a leadership committee comprised of the GCSAA, National Golf Course Owners Association, USGA and many other golf leadership partners.
