Metropolitan Golf Group, a golf course and country club owner/operator and management organization based in New Jersey, announced that it has purchased a golf club in the Hilton Head Island market to add to its portfolio. Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, an Arnold Palmer Signature design, was acquired in an all-cash transaction in April.
Metropolitan Golf operates membership-based country clubs, including Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, New Jersey, and The Summit Club in Armonk, New York.
"Our immediate plans are to improve the property’s course conditions and enhance the overall value to members and guests,” said Christopher R. Schiavone, founder, President and CEO of Metropolitan Golf Group. "Work will include upgrading greens and tees, restoration of waste bunkering throughout the course, and improving the existing practice facilities. The championship course was designed by the legendary golfer Arnold Palmer and it occupies land that features scenic tidal marshes, fresh water lagoons and wetlands, moss draped live oaks and rolling terrain. Our goal is to refresh the facility and stay true to the architect’s original intent.”
