Slideshow: Another makeover at Medinah

A look at the final piece of the renovation puzzle at a famed Illinois club.

Medinah Country Club director of golf course operations Curtis Tyrrell and architect Rees Jones recently showed members of the media, including GCI, the revamped No. 2 course at the 54-hole facility. The course is expected to reopen later this month after being closed since October 2015 for construction.

The project is the third golf course renovation pursued by the club in the past decade. Renovations on the No. 3 course were completed prior to the 2012 Ryder Cup and the No. 1 course reopened in 2014 following a Tom Doak-led renovation. Tom Bendelow was the original architect on all three courses.

The revamped No. 2 course features numerous infrastructure and strategic enhancements, and the club will implement its “Golf For Life” program on the course. Seven tee boxes catered to golfers of all skill levels allow the course to support the program.
