Larry Savvides, the COO and general manager at 54-hole Hunters Run Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida, announced the membership approved a $9.58 million renovation of the club’s East Course. Construction is set to begin in March 2024.
The course was last renovated in 2008, according to club president Michael Rappaport.
“Take the toll of time and year-round play and combine it with the dramatic rise in golf rounds since the pandemic, and our East golf course has served our golfers well,” Rappaport said. “We’re excited about renovating the course and giving our members a refreshed playing experience.”
Savvides added: "While our golf course maintenance team has done an incredible job maintaining the course, the renovation will enrich every aspect of our golfers’ experiences while ensuring the course’s playability and aesthetics. Our golf courses are one of Hunters Run’s prime assets and preserving the club’s reputation as having 54 of the best private golf holes in the area is important to our board and membership.”
Hunters Run has contracted with Kipp Schulties Golf Designs, Inc., Ragan Technical Solutions and Flynn Engineering to assist in the project. The club has also consulted with the USGA, Buzz Jaskela, Landscape Architects and Toro. Amy Volk is the club’s director of golf course maintenance.
The project is scheduled to be completed for the 2024-25 season.
"Our mission statement drives our motives to excel as a successful, forward-thinking, friendly, safe and secure private residential country club community dedicated to providing exceptional facilities, amenities and value to our members and guests,” Savvides said. “And that is exactly what we are doing."
The East Course renovation follows ongoing facilities’ refurbishments in the clubhouse, a complete renovation of the club's driving range and enhancements to the club's 12 pickleball courts, which are part of a long-range “Vision in Progress” master plan.
