Harrell’s expands Charlotte facility

Harrell’s has doubled the size of its Charlotte, N.C., regional warehouse to support strong sales growth in the area and create a workspace for one of its key technical support staff.

 

The warehouse – which is located at 13321 Carowinds Boulevard near the intersection of I-77 and I-485 – now features an additional 20,000 square feet of space, five new shipping and receiving dock doors, and another 10,000 square feet of truck course access. In addition to more inventory space, the expansion greatly improves inbound and outbound freight flow as well as order picking, packing and staging.

 

The Charlotte location now includes a permanent office space for Dr. Jeff Atkinson, one of Harrell’s two staff PhDs.

 

Kurt von Hofen, Harrell’s turf regional director, called it a win for the company and customers. “We’ve been growing so much in the Southeast region that Harrell’s needed to double the warehouse footprint in Charlotte and we’re thrilled to have Jeff Atkinson based right here,” he said. “We continue to invest into the industry we serve and look forward to our sustained growth for years to come. We are definitely here to stay.”
