Integrity Golf Company has announced Harmony Golf Preserve will be undergoing golf course renovations.
Integrity Golf, which oversees the Florida golf course for Starwood Land Ventures, is scheduled to close Harmony May 9 to start this new round of course improvements. Among the enhancements led by golf architect Mike Dasher are major bunker renovations and the installation of new TifEagle greens. The course is schedule to reopen in September.
“We will be investing almost $1 million in the Harmony Golf Preserve course,” said Bob Glantz, vice president of Starwood Land Ventures. “Many of the bunkers will be reconfigured, some of the greens will be redesigned and all of the greens will be renovated. Our new active adult community – The Lakes at Harmony – will welcome its first residents this summer and we want to have the course in excellent condition for the new residents and all of those who enjoy playing golf at Harmony.”
Harmony Golf Preserve, a par-72, 7,417-yard championship course designed by former PGA Tour star Johnny Miller and Fredrick Bliss, encompasses world-class practice facilities, an 18,000-square-foot clubhouse and restaurant/banquet facility called The Champions Grill. The golf course, which opened in November 2002, is part of the highly acclaimed master-planned Town of Harmony – Central Florida’s largest Green Certified Community.
According to Dasher, there are probably 60 bunkers now in play and the renovation calls for eliminating 20-25 and improving others to allow for more effective maintenance and greater aesthetics. The work comes on the heels of significant enhancements already made to Harmony’s clubhouse, including new state-of-the-art fitness equipment.
“We’re proud to be affiliated with such a highly regarded residential golf course community that is positioned to be even more impressive after this latest round of golf course enhancements,” said Integrity Golf CEO and Present Gene Garrote. “This is yet another example of Starwood’s continued commitment to its residents and guests in delivering a golf course experience and lifestyle to the highest of standards.”
