Members of the Golf Course Industry team are bracing to play a prominent role at the Golf Industry Show in San Diego.
In addition to hosting the fifth annual TweetUp in partnership with Aquatrols at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, GCI is pleased to announce five of our regular contributors are presenting at educational events.
Senior contributing editor Bruce Williams will participate in two seminars: “Hire Manage and Develop Your Team” from 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 8, and “Strategies for the Effective Superintendent – Winning the Annual Review and Successful Negotiating Tactics” from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. Williams, CGCS, is the principal of Bruce Williams Golf Consulting and resides in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Columnist Brian Vinchesi will be the instructor for the “Golf Irrigation Auditor” seminar from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8. Vinchesi, the founder of Massachusetts-based Irrigation Consulting Inc., writes for GCI the golf industry’s only monthly water-focused column “Irrigation Issues.”
Columnist Tim Moraghan will participate in the “Event Management and Golf Course Preparation” seminar from 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 8. Moraghan, the founder of ASPIRE Golf, writes the monthly “Outside the Ropes” column.
Technical editor at-large Terry Buchen is participating in the “DIY For Your Facility: Ideas that Make an Impact” education session from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. In year’s past, this session has been standing room only, so be sure to get there early. Buchen, CGCS, is the author of the monthly “Travels with Terry” equipment feature.
Columnist Henry DeLozier will participate in the “Business of Golf – A Superintendent’s Guide” seminar from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. DeLozier, a principal at Global Golf Advisors, writes the monthly “Game Plan” column.
“It’s pretty awesome that our contributors also happen to be some of the most in-demand speakers and teachers in our business,” said GCI publisher and editorial director Pat Jones. “We view ourselves as educators, first and foremost, so I’m delighted that our folks are so engaged in the seminars in San Diego.”
The two-day tradeshow portion of GIS begins Wednesday, Feb. 10 and GIS will have all portions of it covered. Attendees can meet members of the GCI team and receive copies of the magazine at booth #1911.
The TweetUp will be held at Aquatrols booth #3132. The event honors recipients of the Super Social Media Awards and celebrates all forms of golf industry communication. The event can be followed by using #GCITweetUp16 on Twitter.
