We do our best work in the desert.
OK, maybe that’s hyperbole. We give a consistent effort — and have plenty of fun — wherever we travel.
Our next stop happens to be Phoenix for the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show. And we’re eagerly anticipating fleeing our wintry northeast Ohio surroundings for the (hopefully) sunny Sonoran Desert.
The reason? Because we’ll get to interact with many of you.
Booth #5534 inside the Phoenix Convention Center will be the easiest place to find us during trade show hours Wednesday, Jan. 31, and Thursday, Feb. 1. We’ll have our Numbers to Know and Turfheads Take Over issues, stickers, pens, and notebooks for the swag collectors.
For those seeking something more meaningful than swag, members of our editorial, sales and marketing teams will be available to learn about your course or company. It’s not uncommon for us to leave a trade show with our next great feature story. Seeing your team’s work profiled in an ultra-cool magazine must be better than any swag, right?
Another easy place to find us is the Social Media Celebration, a festive throwdown once known as #GCITweetUp. The rebranded event is Jan. 31 at Aquatrols booth #2747. The celebration begins at 2:30 p.m., with the 2024 Super Social Media Award winners honored around 3 p.m. Free drinks will be served, music will be playing and there’s no need to RSVP. Show up, be happy, have fun.
We’ll also be moving targets throughout the week, and we’re bracing for terrific impromptu hallway, show floor, restaurant and perhaps golf course conversations. We’ll be the ones wearing the comfortable “Bear Crawl” and “Osprey” hoodies with the Golf Course Industry logo. Hoodies at a trade show? Times have changed and we’ve been told they make us appear even more approachable.
Can’t make the show? Follow us at @GCIMagazine on X for updates. You can always visit our 24-7-365 virtual booth, otherwise known as our DMs, to share your team’s and course’s story.
Just promise us some sun when we visit your course.
