The 2025 GCSAA Health in Action 5K/2K, held Feb. 4 in conjunction with the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show in San Diego, successfully raised $10,000 for the GCSAA Foundation. The event reached this milestone thanks to a generous runner who contributed an additional $20 just before the race began, pushing the total to the $10,000 mark. This year’s event sold out with 250 runners/walkers participating and marked the eighth time the 5K has been held. A non-timed 2K run/walk was added this year to make the event even more inclusive for seasoned runners and newcomers alike.
“GCSAA is grateful for the ongoing partnership with Syngenta and the support it offers our members through events like the Health in Action 5K/2K,” GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans said. “Syngenta has undoubtedly helped shape and advance the future of the turfgrass management industry.”
Since it began, the Health in Action 5K event has raised more than $63,000 to support the Foundation’s mission to fund research, education, advocacy and community outreach efforts.
“We are honored to be steadfast supporters of the eighth annual Health in Action 5K/2K. This event exemplifies the golf industry’s commitment to health and wellness, while also making a significant impact on our professional community,” turf market manager Stephanie Schwenke said. “Syngenta is deeply impressed by the industry's engagement, which has resulted in an impressive sum of more than $63,000 raised for the GCSAA Foundation. This remarkable achievement underscores the power of coming together for a cause that benefits both individual well-being and the broader golf profession."
