“We had lots of folks reach out to us about hosting events after our inaugural GCI Tech conference last year,” said publisher Pat Jones. “The idea of focusing the agenda on the critical issue of precision turf management and holding it in multiple locations was really exciting. It also fits perfectly with what WinField United is introducing to the market via its new GeoTech Insight Platform so we were delighted to partner exclusively with them this year to do the Tech Tour.”
And, thanks to the sponsorship, this year’s Tech Tour events will be free of charge to superintendents and other turf professionals in each area.
Each event will cover all key aspects of data gathering, management and application as well as feature the experiences of experts who’ve been leaders in data-driven agronomy.
Jones will host the events and present his thoughts on the state of the golf/turf industry. Other featured speakers at the initial event in Dallas include:
• Ken Rost, CEO of Frost Sprayers, Inc., a leader in high-tech application systems for turf.
• Aaron Johnsen, director of technical services for WinField, who’s helped to spearhead the company’s data services and GeoTech tool.
• Dr. Bill Kreuser, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, one of the industry's leading experts on the relationship between new technologies and environmental models.
Superintendents and others in the Dallas/Ft. Worth region can sign up now at the GCI Tech Tour Registration. Again, there is no charge for superintendents to attend and lunch is included.
Look for details soon about other GCI Tech Tour events planned in these locations in 2017:
• April 26: Lone Tree Golf Club, Lone Tree, Colo.
• May 23: Midland Hills Country Club, Roseville, Minn.
• Nassau County, N.Y.
