Introducing the GCI Technology Conference

Join us for a serious conversation about how superintendents can position themselves for the future at the debut edition of this event April 11-12 at Carolina Golf Club in Charlotte, N.C.

The first-ever GCI Technology Conference focused on “Forecasting the Future” will take place April 11-12 in Charlotte, N.C., and will provide in-depth info on what the future of our business will hold and how you, the superintendent, can prepare yourself and your facility for what will come. The event is presented in partnership with Toro, Syngenta, Smith Turf & Irrigation and the Carolinas GCSA.

Pat Jones will be emceeing and offering his vision for 2026, but more importantly you’ll hear from experts like:
-- Henry DeLozier, the driving force of Global Golf Advisors on where he believes the business of golf and club operations is heading;
-- Tim Moraghan, consultant and employment expert extraordinaire, on how you can manage your career for the years ahead;
-- Dana Lonn, the genius behind The Toro Co.’s technology, on how GPS, mapping and other technologies will change the way we manage courses;
-- Dr. Lane Tredway, one of Syngenta’s leading experts, on emerging plant health strategies;
-- Ken Mangum, the legendary former Atlanta Athletic Club super, on what he learned from his long career and how he thinks the profession will evolve;
-- Tim Hiers, The Club at Mediterra director of agronomy and the profession’s brilliant champion of common-sense sustainability, on how you can meet the expectations of your members without breaking the bank.

Additionally, we’re bringing in leading superintendents for panel discussions on how they’re managing key responsibilities today for success a decade from now.

We’ll be hosted by Matthew Wharton, CGCS, at Carolina Golf Club (which is just minutes from the Charlotte airport). The event starts with a golf outing to benefit the Wee One Foundation on Monday, April 11 (the day after the Masters concludes) on the club’s remarkable Donald Ross course. Tuesday the 12th will be a full day of presentations and interaction, so come prepared to absorb and process a ton of good information.

When you’re trying to put together a new kind of conference on the business of golf, you need strong partners. We’re incredibly fortunate to have The Toro Co., Syngenta and Smith Turf & Irrigation supporting us. We’re also honored to have the Carolinas GCSA by our side on this too. Great companies, great association, great topic, great speakers, great networking…what else do you need?

So, consider this your invitation – whether you’re a super, supplier, designer, builder or any other stakeholder in golf’s future. The fee for the Tuesday April 12 session is $99 ($79 for Carolinas GCSA members) and the Monday golf outing and reception is $80. General registration opens Monday, Feb 29.
