The Georgia State Golf Association is pleased to announce the 2010-2011 members of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame:
- Mark Esoda of Marietta, a certified golf course superintendent and nationally recognized expert in golf course maintenance practices and procedures;
- Peter Persons of Macon, a past Georgia Amateur and Junior champion, University of Georgia All-American and PGA TOUR winner;
- Jim Stuart of Macon, a two-time former U.S. Mid-Amateur champion, past Georgia amateur player of the year and collegiate national champion;
- Billie Wickliffe of Athens (posthumous induction), a five-time state champion and contributor who led efforts to increase playing opportunities for women golfers in Georgia
- The Georgia Golf Hall of Fame induction banquet will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek.
The Atlanta Athletic Club holds a long and storied place in the history of golf in the state of Georgia, as the home club of the greatest amateur golfer of them all, Bobby Jones, along with no less than 13 other members of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame. The club will host its third PGA Championship August 11-14, 2011, and in 2014 will host the U.S. Amateur, its sixth USGA national championship.
