I thought I would report on all things hole-y. Holes, that is. It’s aerification time at many a club right now and many a superintendent is blogging about it and keeping their members and guests appraised of what’s going on. Aeration at Yorba Linda CC.Tim Wren, superintendent of Yorba Linda CC in Orange County, Calif., has some great posts and pictures of his greens and fairway aerification process. One of his goals is to reincorporate some of his Kikuyu cores to thinner areas around the course. Check out Tim’s informative blog here. In Madison, Wis., superintendents had it rough with snow and ice cover. Jake Schneider, assistant superintendent of Blackhawk Country Club did a really nice job explaining ice damage to their greens and the recovery thereof. Lots of good photos helped to show the recovery process, and of course the aerification and overseeding is a part of that. The Blackhawk Blog can be found right here.
