After selling 41 golf courses during the last 30 months, with six more currently under contract and seven exclusively listed golf courses for sale, Marcus & Millichap’s National Golf & Resort Properties Group, the nation’s largest golf course brokerage and real estate investment services firm, has once again expanded their operation with the addition of Robert Waldron, Sales Associate, Investment Advisor. Mr. Waldron is a golf and hospitality industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience. He has held management positions with well-respected firms such as Marriott Corporation, Legg Mason Real Estate Services and Billy Casper Golf. Steven Ekovich, Director of the firm’s National Golf & Resort Properties Group based in Tampa, Florida, said “we are excited to have an industry veteran of Rob’s caliber join our team. Rob is well-known, well-respected and well-liked in the Golf Industry and complements our team which now totals five golf course brokers facilitating golf course transactions throughout the U.S. His extensive background in finance, operations, acquisitions, brokerage, debt placement, business development and consulting, provides a unique perspective to both underwriting and the sale of golf course assets.”
Mr. Waldron has been directly involved with more than 150 golf courses in an advisory capacity including 10 golf course transactions. He is a published author of numerous articles for golf trade publications and has been a featured speaker for more than 15 years at Golf Industry events. Rob served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Chapter of the National Golf Course Owners Association and the Washington Metropolitan Golf Association and is a member of the Golf Digest “100 Greatest Courses in America” Panel. Rob volunteered as a Rules Official for USGA, MSGA, MAGA and WMGA golf events. Mr. Waldron holds a BS in Finance from Penn State University.
