FMC Corporation announced it will debut Serata fungicide at the 2022 GCSAA Conference and Trade Show in San Diego.
Serata fungicide is the latest fungicide for the golf market in FMC Professional Solutions’ expanding portfolio that includes Fame, Rayora and Kalida fungicides.
Serata fungicide is specially formulated to combat Pythium diseases. It contains the active ingredient picarbutrazox, a new compound from the novel tetrazolyloximes class of chemistry.
The new mode of action fungicide provides superintendents a new tool to combat Pythium root rot, Pythium blight and Pythium root dysfunction. Picarbutrazox disrupts the normal function of the pathogen’s cellular membrane.
“Pythium root rot and related Pythium diseases can be challenging for many golf course superintendents,” said Evan Parenti, FMC Golf & Lawn market manager. “Serata fungicide trials around the country have demonstrated effective control of Pythium root rot for extended periods.”
Serata fungicide is labeled for use on golf courses, industrial lawns and commercial sites. More information about Serata will be available at booth #1537 in San Diego.
