The Pro/Angle line of quartz bunker sand is now part of the BESTSAND portfolio of aggregates for golf and sports fields.
BESTSAND’s parent company, Covia, recently acquired R.W. Sidley Co.’s industrial mining division, including Pro/Angle. Golf course superintendents and other customers can now compare and select from the familiar BESTSAND portfolio or choose Pro/Angle for top-quality material and reliable supplies whether for bunkers, topdressing, divot fill or other needs.
“This is a win for superintendents, contractors and others who need the best bunker sands and other performance aggregates,” said Terry Gwinn, BESTSAND’s sales manager at Covia. “The Sidley brands and Covia brands complement each other really well at a busy time for construction in the golf market.”
Golf participation grew substantially during the pandemic and course remodeling — particularly bunker renovations — has been at an all-time high.
“The biggest challenge has often been securing materials and transportation,” Gwinn said. “Combining these two brands should help with sourcing and logistics. … These sand and silica products are meticulously engineered to meet demanding standards for top golf courses.
