Troon selected to manage Missouri facility

Columbia Country Club rests on 120 acres.

Troon has been selected to manage Columbia Country Club, an 18-hole private facility in Columbia, Mo.

Columbia Country Club was established in 1921 and was the first private golf club in Columbia. The historic club is in the heart of Columbia and sits on 120 acres. The original nine holes were designed by J.M Watson in 1921, while the back nine was designed by Larry Packard in 1987. In 2012 and 2013, Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design oversaw a golf course renovation that included 10 holes rebuilt or rerouted, and the remaining eight holes and practice facility renovated. The classic layout meanders through heavily-wooded countryside along Hinkson Creek.

"Columbia Country Club is an exceptional private facility with an outstanding reputation," said Ryan Walls, president, Troon Privé Division. "We are honored to have been selected by them and are confident that our management practices will contribute positively to the experience at this historic club."

"We are very excited about partnering with Troon,” said Jean Leonatti, club president, Columbia Country Club. “Their breadth of resources and expertise will elevate our member experience and position Columbia Country Club to succeed for many years to come."
