The start of the annual Carolinas GCSA Conference and Show in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is approaching and our bags — of both the carry-on and golf variety — are already packed. We wouldn’t miss it for anything.
We love the annual gathering for so many reasons. The November weather is usually better in Myrtle Beach than at our northeast Ohio homes, the golf courses are fabulously maintained and open for play, good seafood every now and then is a real treat and … oh, right, we get to hang out and catch up with so many industry friends, new and old. That is the biggest reason we love it.
No matter if you’re new to the industry, new to the Carolinas or a first-time attendee (we have one on our own team!), or you’ve been reading the magazine for years, have a handful of Turfheads Take Over bylines or #TurfheadsGrilling recipes on your résumé, or swing by our booth every year, we want to talk with you. How have you been? How’s the family? How’s the course? What’s new? Any projects? You have questions about the industry? How can we help? Oh, you just want some Golf Course Industry swag? Sure, we have that, too.
We’ll see you there. Until then, a handy 5 W’s guide for next week.
WHO: Publisher + editor-in-chief Guy Cipriano, managing editor Matt LaWell, assistant editor Kelsie Horner (making her Myrtle Beach debut!), national sales manager Russ Warner and account manager Jimmy Clark.
WHAT: The Carolinas GCSA Conference and Show in Myrtle Beach. We established that already, right?
WHEN: Monday, Nov. 18, through Wednesday, Nov. 20
WHERE: Wachesaw Plantation Club in Murrells Inlet for the golf championship on Monday … Booth #2015 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center for education seminars and Carolinas Night on Tuesday and the trade show on Tuesday and Wednesday … plus a variety of other golf courses, miniature golf courses, local favorite restaurants, sidewalks and the beach for runs and walks, and souvenir shops.
WHY: Because the Carolinas GCSA Conference and Show brings together more industry professionals than any other regional show — and you don’t have to work or live in the Carolinas to be a part of it! — and we value and appreciate the connections and friendships we’ve made there every year. It’s a fixture on our calendar. And this year especially, after the havoc wreaked by Hurricane Helene across large swaths of the Carolinas, these few days feel precious and more important than ever before.
