Arysta LifeScience North America turf and ornamental products has announced federal registration of new turf insecticide premixtures under the Aloft brand name, in both granular and sprayable formulation for professional golf course, lawn care, landscape, sports turf and sod production use.
The Aloft premix combines the residual activity of clothianidin with the knockdown activity of bifenthrin, providing two complementary modes of action. Clothianidin has demonstrated effective preventive control of all white grubs, in addition to controlling escaped larvae from early-season adult or surface-feeder eggs laid prior to Aloft application. Bifenthrin is known to deliver rapid knockdown, within hours, of early season adults and surface-feeding pests.
“Extensive 2007 university field trial results have proven that Aloft provides a complete turf insect control package to manage multiple life stages of adults, surface-feeders and white grubs from early spring through early fall,” according to Doug Houseworth, Ph.D., turf and ornamental technical manager, Arysta LifeScience. “Combining the unsurpassed residual of clothianidin with the highly effective knockdown of bifenthrin in Aloft formulations offers turf managers two modes of protection against a broad spectrum of insects”, Houseworth adds.
“Aloft is the next generation of clothianidin-based insecticide from Arysta LifeScience to offer superintendents and lawn care professionals an insect control and resistance management tool that controls adults, surface-feeding pests, and all white grubs, better than ever before,” says Steven DalSasso, business manager, turf and ornamental products at Arysta LifeScience.
