Pro-superintendents by the numbers

Golf course staff members who split their time as superintendent and golf pro are a rare breed, but they do exist, as illustrated in the November Golf Course Industry cover story. Here are the numbers:

• 11 superintendent members of the GCSAA are PGA professionals.
• 15 Class A (non CGCS) members of the GCSAA are PGA professionals
• 3 industry members retain CGCS and PGA professional status – Bruce Gregory, Liberty (Ind.) Country Club; Mark Monahan, Paupack Hills Golf & Country Club, Greentown, Pa.; and Allen Parkes, Traditions at Chevy Chase, Wheeling, Ill.
