OB Sports assumes management of 27-hole Arizona facility

Sunland Springs Golf Club opened in 1997.

OB Sports recently assumed club management duties for Sunland Springs Golf Club in East Mesa, Ariz. Effective Jan. 1, 2016, OB Sports began overseeing all golf and club operations for the 27-hole facility.  Jay Larscheid, longtime general manager of Longbow Golf Club, which is also in Mesa and managed by OB Sports, was called on to lead the golf and club operations for Sunland Springs Golf Club.

“I am looking forward to my new role at Sunland Springs,” Larscheid said.  “The new membership’s commitment to the club sends an encouraging message about the future of Sunland Springs, and I intend to build on that support to provide an enriching golf and hospitality experience for all.”

As Larscheid mentioned, the membership group of 400 local homeowners within the Sunland Springs Village community recently purchased the club from the original developer, Farnsworth Companies. Originally opening in 1997, the golf course will remain open to the public in addition to its membership offering. Sunland Springs Golf Club is made up of three nine-hole courses and also features a clubhouse, practice facility, chipping and putting greens as well as PGA instruction.

“We greatly appreciate and enjoyed working with the team at OB Sports on this exciting membership drive and affiliated acquisition,” said Burt Marcus, president of the board of directors.  “The entire membership, and surrounding community, is tremendously enthusiastic to see this operation continue to grow and improve under OB’s leadership.”
