Landscapes Golf Management recently wrapped up their 20th annual general manager conference, which provides an opportunity for the company’s general managers, emerging leaders and home-office support team to come together for four days of camaraderie, learning and development. The 2020 edition focused on developing a positive culture, leadership, and optimizing performance.
Butler’s Golf Course in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, took home top honors for Facility of the Year at the awards ceremony. During a challenging weather year, Butler’s turned in a stellar season in terms of financial, customer satisfaction and employee feedback, and also executed a clubhouse improvement project.
Chris Lewis, GCSAA, of The Broadlands Golf Course received General Manager of the Year. A lifelong superintendent, regional agronomist and former president of the Colorado Turfgrass Association, Lewis stepped into the GM role less than three years ago.
Winchester Country Club, in Winchester, Virginia, won Most Improved Facility, where revenues have increased by 14 percent since 2017.
LGM also recognized facilities and employees for excellence in customer service, agronomy, food and beverage, sales and innovation among other categories.
