The Building of the Green was one of the highlights, and possbily the biggest highlight, of the 2005 Golf Industry Show in Orlando. Developed in partnership with the Golf Course Builders Association of America and the American Society of Golf Course Architects, the green was built in the middle of the trade show floor, covering 12,000 square feet of floor space. Builders began by dumping dirt on Sunday, Feb. 6, and finished Saturday, Feb. 12. About two-thirds of the green construction took place prior to the opening of the show, and about half of it ended up as a putting green. Attendees were able to enjoy video footage of earlier work completed. Below are some photos that show the progression of the building of the green.
