And the Winners Are...
The GCI staff presented the 2009 Golf Course Industry Builder Excellence Awards at the Golf Course Builders Association of America’s awards dinner, which occurred in conjunction with the Golf Industry Show in New Orleans in February.
Three awards were presented. Wadsworth Golf Construction Co. won the Heritage Award for best reconstruction project with its work at Naperville Country Club in Illinois. For the first time since the inception of the awards program in 2004, a company won two awards the same year. Aspen Corp. took home the Legacy Award for best renovation project with its work at The Water’s Edge Country Club in Penhook, Va. Aspen also won the Affinity Award for best environmental project with its work at the Wisp Golf Course in McHenry, Md.
