AGC institutes caddie program at Tribute

COLONY, Texas - American Golf Corp.-managed Tribute Golf Club here recently instituted a caddie program for its daily-fee customers. The move is part of a move to enhance the Scottish feel of the course, which is a Tripp Davis-designed Scottish-style links course, said Jeff Muller, general manager of Tribute. The caddies will provide all the traditional services, including shot selection advice, raking bunkers, spotting wayward shots, getting yardage and reading greens, among others.

Holmes named director of golf at Frog Hollow

MIDDLETOWN, Del. - Billy Casper Golf (BCG) has appointed Mike Holmes director of golf at Frog Hollow Golf Club here. Prior to joining the staff at Frog Hollow, Holmes served as director of golf at Goose Creek Golf Club in Leesburg, Va., which is also managed by BCG.

Renaissance adds two to staff

HAVERHILL, Mass. - Renaissance Golf Club, a private club now under construction, has hired Dan Higgins, CGCS, as its superintendent and Mike Bemis as head professional. Higgins comes to Renaissance from Winchester Country Club, where he served as superintendent for 13 years. Bemis comes from Myopia Hunt Club, where he spent the last seven years as first assistant professional. Construction at the Brian Silva-designed Renaissance began in April, with a summer 2004 opening planned.

Stonebridge names Desmond director of golf

MONROE, N.C. - Stonebridge Golf Club here has named Ross Desmond its new director of golf. Desmond comes to Stonebridge after spending the last three and a half years as head professional at Crescent Golf Club in Salisbury. Prior to that, he spent nearly five years at Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek.
