Bobby Jones Golf Course has announced the opening of its new Dan Yates Putting Course. Part of a $33 million renovation that has occurred over the past three years, the Dan Yates Putting Course is a 9-hole reversible design with TifEagle Bermudagrass greens. The putting course complements the 9-hole reversible regulation course and five-hole par-3 Cupp Links.
Honoring the late Georgia Golf Hall of Fame inductee and Augusta National member, the Dan Yates Putting Course offers a dynamic layout designed to produce enjoyment.
Located in the heart of Buckhead, Atlanta, and just steps from the entrance of the new Boone’s restaurant, the Himalayas-style putting course provides amusement for golfers and nongolfers alike, and is one of the only of its kind to be found on a public course in the U.S. The Dan Yates Putting Course takes approximately 30 minutes to play and replicates the authentic look and feel of playing Bobby Jones’ Magnolia and Azalea courses in a fraction of the time, as it slopes and curves up and down mounds. The tees change daily and the tee markers on the greens also serve as drink holders.
“The Dan Yates Putting Course is an incredible addition to the golf and overall entertainment experience at Bobby Jones Golf Course,” general manager Brian Conley said. “The putting course offers guests of all ages and skill levels an opportunity to test their accuracy and hone their putting stroke in a new and exciting way.”
Additionally, the Dan Yates Putting Course is also home to the new Bobby Jones Golf Course Starter Shack opening in mid-October. This outside facility serves as the gateway to Bobby Jones Golf Course.
“At Bobby Jones Golf Course, we are much more than a reversible public golf course, we are the premier golf entertainment center in the Southeast,” said Whitney Crouse, co-founder of Bobby Jones Links. “We are committed to growing the game of golf through our instruction and one-of-a-kind offerings that can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of their skill set.”
