RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - The BASF Professional Turf and Ornamental group announced June 2 that it has completed the integration of TopPro Specialties into its existing professional turf business (GCN, April 2003).
According to the company, the merger will expand and fortify the BASF Professional Turf and Ornamental group and provide a solutions-based portfolio and approach to the market.
Since plans for this integration were first announced in late 2002, BASF has been examining the strategic role that each TopPro product might add to the BASF Professional Turf portfolio. The following products are included in the merger: Curalan, Iprodione Pro and Propiconazole Pro fungicides; Basagran herbicide; Amdro Pro fire ant bait; and Permethrin Pro and Bifenthrin Pro insecticides.
“The selection of these specific products combines the best of both worlds from TopPro and the BASF Professional Turf group,” said Mike Toce, business manager for the Professional Turf and Ornamental group.
